City-based artist Sk. Amirjan drew a painting of a tiger to raise awareness on the protection of the big cat on the occasion of International Tiger Day on Friday.

The painting was drawn on canvas with oil colours and it was a token of the artist’s contribution to the cause of protecting the wildlife in general and the tigers in particular.

Speaking about the art work, Mr. Amirjan said that it was indeed a cause for greater concern that the tiger species were facing the threat of extinction as per the reports coming from across the world. It should not be allowed to happen and everybody should make their contribution to this cause, he added.
