A painting titled “Pushkara harati” was done by Nellore-based artist Amir Jan to extend greetings and wishes to the pilgrims setting out to take a holy bath in the Krishna river for this festive season.

Made on art canvas with acrylic colours, the painting richly demonstrates the beauty and bounty of the river with the Prakasam barrage as its backdrop. Speaking about his painting, Mr. Jan said that it was a great honour for him as his painting got selected for the Pushkara art exhibition from Nellore district and for him to be part of the celebrations this season. The art affairs during this festival were being held under the auspices of the Andhra Pradesh Artists and Associations Guild. The painting features a priest in prayerful robes offering ‘harati’ to the Krishna river.
