Government Whip and Sangareddy legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy has reportedly decided to maintain silence over the comments made by C. Padmini, wife of Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha.
Ms. Padmini, at a media meet in Hyderabad on Sunday, alleged that Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy called on the workers to resort to booth capturing to get one lakh majority in the forthcoming elections. She also informed that she would be writing about this to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the District Collector.
Despite the open criticism by Ms. Padmini, the Government Whip has decided to maintain silence over the issue due to the reasons best known to him.
The supporters of Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy feel that Mr. Damodar was not instrumental behind the comments made by Ms. Padmini and hence there was no need to react.
‘No Comment’‘No comment’ was the answer from Mr. Jayaprakash Reddy when contacted. He, along with supporters would be attending the District Congress Committee (DCC) meeting slated for Tuesday at the newly constructed party office in the district headquarters. The meeting would be presided over by DCC president and MLC V. Bhoopal Reddy.
Apart from this, several aspirants of the party ticket were expected to attend the meeting and many of them may raise their voices. The aspirants feel that contesting this election would be a life-time opportunity as the Telangana State was accorded by the Congress.
