Package will not do, says Lok Satta

August 19, 2016 08:03 am | Updated 08:03 am IST - SRIKAKULAM:

Lok Satta Party on Thursday asked people to reject ‘package’ sought to be announced for Andhra Pradesh by the Centre, as the State could witness real progress and economic development only with Special Category Status.

Party senior leaders K. Polinaidu and Panchadi Rambabu said that the Union government was trying to mislead the people with the so-called financial packages when people were keen on SCS.

“Srikakulam district is the real victim of bifurcation since there are no job opportunities locally. The situation is also miserable in the bifurcated State. Industries would come only if SCS is accorded as it ensures investors some tax incentives and other benefits,” he added.

Mr. Rambabu said that the party would take up agitations to highlight the injustice meted out to the State.
