Organise health camps: Nivas

Municipal Commissioner J. Nivas on Sunday asked authorities concerned to organise health camps in case of an outbreak of health issue due to contaminated drinking water.

Mr. Nivas visited Bhavanipuram area where locals fell ill reportedly due to contaminated water supplied by the Municipal Corporation.

Two elderly persons living in the slum area near FCI godown reportedly fell ill due to contaminated water and were admitted to a corporate hospital, according to a release from the VMC.

Medical and health officials said that one of them recovered quickly and that the other would also be discharged soon.

Mr. Nivas ordered the officials concerned to seal water pipeline leakages immediately.

He also asked officials to examine every local identified with any health issue at the health camps.
