At a time when the AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) employees are demanding action against Executive Director M. Balasubramanyam Reddy, the State government is considering his request for transfer to Telangana.

Mr. Balasubramanyam Reddy had applied for transfer to his parent department, tourism, in Telangana. His wife is also working in the Telangana government.

“The request is being considered actively. The government is positive to the request,” said highly placed sources.

APTDC Karmika Sangham president N. Surender Reddy said, “The State government has not taken action against Mr. Reddy and other officials in the boat accident case. Instead, it suspended seven lower-rung staff and officers.”

The government had not taken note of the complaints lodged by the employees against the ED (Operations), he says.

‘Check call data’

The APTDC employees have been opposing the government’s decision to post officials from other departments on deputation . They are also demanding regular appointments instead of contract and outsourcing employees.

The investigating agencies should check the call data of the persons who were operating the illegal boats to establish their nexus, if any, with the senior officials, they feel.
