‘Only debt passed on, not revenue’

June 23, 2014 11:28 pm | Updated 11:28 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

TDP MLA D. Narendra Kumar bemoaned that Andhra Pradesh as a separate State was deprived of Rs. 47,000 crore which the region would have otherwise got in the combined State as its share of revenue generated from Hyderabad.

“Post-bifurcation, only the liabilities of the combined State were passed on to Andhra Pradesh and not the income. We are losing a heavy revenue from Hyderabad,” Mr. Narendra said and added that the budget of the combined State would have been Rs. 1.80 lakh crore this year if the State was not divided.
