‘Only a few errors in Telangana staff allotment’

May 23, 2014 10:57 pm | Updated May 23, 2016 04:56 pm IST - HYDERABAD

Following protests from the Telangana Employees Association over the ‘local status’ of 193 Secretariat employees, General Administration Department (GAD) Secretary S K Sinha on Friday said his office had received representations pertaining only to 53 employees. Mr Sinha said genuine errors were noticed only in a dozen cases and corrective action initiated. If the authenticity of entries in the Service Register is to be questioned, disputes could not be resolved at this point of time, he pointed out.

Mr Sinha’s clarification comes in the wake of the controversy over the provisional allocation of employees in the Secretariat between the two successor States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The temporary allotment, in preparation for the June 2 formal bifurcation, turned contentious over the ‘local status’ of 193 employees working in the Secretariat.
