The crude oil drilling operation by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) will begin in the Nagayalanka block in Krishna district on Tuesday.
ONGC Chairman and Managing Director Sashi Shanker will inaugurate the Early Production System (EPS) in the site near the Bhavadevarapalli village flagging off the ₹6,804-project in the Krishna-Godavari basin.
A whopping ₹340 crore would be spent on environment protection.
The ONGC initially targeted developing of three wells and one EPS, whose handling capacity is drilling of 379 cum/per day of crude oil and 0.145 Million Standard cubic feet of gas per day.
‘Terms of reference’
In March 2015, the Ministry of Environment and Forests and Climate Change issued the ‘Terms of Reference’ to the ONGC, permitting to set up 31 wells in the Krishna district. The three wells are in Nangegedda and Bhavadevarapalli in the mandal.
