ONGC’s helicopter made an emergency landing owing to bad weather near Ravulapalem in East Godavari district on Thursday.

According to ONGC officials, the helicopter with two pilots and six engineers on board took off from an offshore unit near Kakinada for Rajamahendravaram.

When the pilots observed heavy rain coupled with gales, they decided to make emergency landing near open fields at Indiranagar colony in Ravulapalem, a site of banana plantations. All on board are safe. There was no damage to the helicopter either.

After taking a break for 45 minutes, the helicopter took off around noon and reached the destination safely.
