One pilgrim killed, two injured at Tirumala

One pilgrim was killed and two others seriously injured after a high tension (HT) wire abruptly snapped and fell on them at Tirumala near here today.

The mishap occurred when five pilgrims from Tamil Nadu were on their way to the shrine of Lord Venkateswara from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) pilgrim amenities complex on the hills.

The high tension wire passing above the road suddenly snapped and fell on them killing one and seriously injuring two others in the wee hours. The deceased has been identified as Srinivasan (17), police said.
