One more judge on ACB radar

July 12, 2012 03:12 am | Updated November 16, 2021 10:59 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

One more district judge has been picked up by the ACB for questioning in the bail scam involving mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy. He is K. Lakshminarasimha Rao, a former Registrar of High Court, and presently Chief Judge for Small Causes court at the city civil courts complex here. The High Court placed him under suspension even as the ACB carried out a search of his house at Hyderguda. The ACB also searched the house of D. Prabhakar Rao who was suspended earlier as Judge, Family court-cum-III Additional District and Sessions Judge, Srikakulam.

Mr. Lakshminarasimha Rao had called Mr. Prabhakar Rao to his house and persuaded him to take up with T. Pattabhirama Rao the issue of bail for Gali for a bribe of Rs.10 crore. However, Pattabhirama Rao did not evince interest in the proposal of Prabhakar Rao, but preferred the offer by a retired judge T.V. Chalapathi Rao though it was for only Rs.5 crore.
