The body of 55-year-old Javadi Venkatamma, who accidentally drowned along with her younger daughter and grandson in a stream abutting Tularam project near Vinoba Nagar in Bayyaram mandal on Tuesday night, was retrieved by the villagers in the early hours of Wednesday.

Sources said that Venkatamma, a native of Vinoba Nagar, her younger daughter Srilatha, 20, and her elder daughter’s son, met a watery grave in the stream while washing clothes late on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred when lightning reportedly struck a tree nearby the stream, sources added. The bodies of Venkatamma’s younger daughter and grandson were found floating in the stream on Tuesday night.
