Elated over the release of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy on bail, K. Dhanunjaya Reddy of Rayachoty (Kadapa district), an ardent loyalist of the YSR family and a Samaikyandhra protagonist, trekked all the way to Tirumala on his knees to pay obeisance to Lord Venkateswara on Friday.

“I vowed to go to Tirumala on my knees if Mr. Jagan gets released from jail. Besides, I have to pray for the unity of my State and the Telugu people,” said Mr. Dhanunjaya.

It is the third trek for Mr. Dhanunjaya who is a software engineer from Bangalore and a member of YSRC (IT wing). He embarked on his first one when the late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy became Chief Minister in 2009. The second one was when Mr. Jagan won the Kadapa MP seat with a huge margin.

“I have a belief that whatever I wish for the family comes true, that is why I trek all the way to Tirumala,” he told the media before continuing his crawl over the Tirumala steps.
