Several public representatives, including TDP MLA Gouthu Shyam Sundar Shivaji (Palasa), alleged that officials had failed to respond quickly to public grievances despite they were brought to the notice of the departments concerned long ago. It has become top of the agenda in Srikakulam Zilla Parishad general body meeting held in Srikakulam on Thursday.

Mr. Shivaji alleged that the officials of many departments failed to respond to issues such as pensions, loans and road repair. He had a heated argument with officials in the presence of Labour Minister K.Atchannaidu and Srikakulam Collector P.Lakshmi Prasad.

YSRC MLAs, including Kalamata Venkata Ramana, expressed concern over the poor response from various departments though it was decided in the last meeting to respond in a stipulated time over the public issues. Srikakulam MP Kinjarapu Rammohan, Srikakulam MLA Gunda Lakshmidevi, Srikakulam Zilla Parishad chairperson Chowdary Dhana Lakshmi and others participated in the meeting.
