In another pilgrim-friendly initiative, the TTD has resolved to include light refreshments in its menu at the Nitya Annaprasadam Complex, where, on an average, 60,000 devotees are served food free of cost every day.

New timings

Talking to the media on Wednesday, TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao said that in view of the summer vacations the management changed the timings of the complex from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. with just an hour break in the evening.

Following suggestions from different quarters to include snacks during morning hours, a decision was taken to include upma and pongal .

“We are implementing the new menu as a trial run and the response from the devotees is encouraging. After all, our intention is to provide food free of cost to all the visiting pilgrims during their stay here. It is with this intention that food is being made available to the devotees waiting in the darshan lines as well as those in the queue compartments,” he said.
