Non-bailable caseagainst TDP MLA

July 06, 2014 09:33 pm | Updated 09:33 pm IST - NELLORE:

The police registered a non-bailable case against Telugu Desam Party MLA Kurugondla Ramakrishna and party ZPTC members charging them with preventing a public servant from discharging his duties.

Senior police officials went to the residence of Mr. Ramakrishna to execute the arrest but the MLA was not available. The Nellore district administration was stated to have taken serious note of the incidents that led to the postponement of election of Nellore Zilla Parishad chairman to July 13. The TDP members were accused of having pulled off the mike and tore the agenda papers.

The Zilla Parishad officials filed a complaint at the One Town police station stating that some members obstructed the proceedings ‘unlawfully’ and prevented the public servants from carrying out their duties.

Based on the video footage, the police identified the leaders and members who were involved in the incident. Meanwhile, YSRC MLAs Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that the police were not taking action against the TDP leaders just because that party was in power in the State. They demanded that all those who were responsible for the undemocratic incidents be brought to book..
