Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday asserted that there would be no ‘u’ turn on party’s commitment to creation of separate Telangana, irrespective of its alliance with other parties.

Addressing a public meeting, ‘Telangana Praja Garjana’ here, she said: BJP will never take 'U' turn, not even in dreams. We may tie up with anyone but our support to creation of new State is certain.

She brushed aside meeting of TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu with BJP president Rajnath Singh in Delhi recently as “just a casual one and not on Telangana” and speculation over party’s stand on Telangana.

She recalled that BJP had earlier made a promise that it will create a separate Telangana State within 100 days of coming back to power.

In the same breath, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha sounded a word of caution that Telangana people should maintain restraint in the event of formation of a new State. Responding to reports on some leaders making intimidating statements on non-Telangana people staying in Hyderabad, she pointed out that the division was only of geography and not of people.

The BJP leader blamed Congress for deceiving people of Telangana time and again. BJP will wait till this winter session for the Congress to move the Bill on Telangana and it does not happen it would join hands with other Telangana parties to take part in the agitation. “I will certainly come back to Hyderabad. It will be either to celebrate Telangana victory or to take part personally in the second round of mass agitation if the Centre goes back on its word,” she said.

BJP was looking at AP as one of the potential States which would contribute to party’s bid to stage a come back at the Centre, she said. This is the second meeting organised by the BJP in Telangana, the first one being in Hyderabad. It was addressed by the Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi.
