Launching a scathing attack on the opposition for its attempts to destabilise governance, Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy asserted that no one had the capacity to topple his government.
“People have given a five year mandate to the Congress Government for the development and welfare of the State. None can bring down this government. I am not the one to be cowed down by others and can stand stubborn like a rock if anyone comes in between the people and the government. Such forces are bound to face people’s wrath,” Mr. Reddy said at a public meeting at Dhanwada mandal on Tuesday.
He said that people had demonstrated how they could teach a lesson to the vested interests in the recently held cooperative elections. The elections to the panchayats and municipalities were in the offing. Worried over their dwindling prospects, the TRS and YSRC were conspiring to bring down the Congress government, he alleged. “One should understand that a rubber ball hit to the ground with force will bounce back with even greater force,” he said.
He earlier inaugurated the State-wide, month-long ‘Revenue Sadassu’ at Mandipalli village in Dhanwada mandal of Mahbubnagar district and interacted with the beneficiaries. In an indirect reference to the Mahbubnagar MP, K.Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr.Reddy said: “Your MP never comes here nor resolves your grievances, nor allows the government to work. I came to this district seven to eight times, apart from election tours and Indiramma Baata programme,” he said.
On Telangana, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the Centre would take an appropriate decision at the right time and solve the 50-year-old problem amicably. But till then none should stall the development and welfare activities. The Chief Minister said an educational package was being prepared for the educationally backward Mahbubnagar district. Revenue Minister N.Raghuveera Reddy, I&PR Minister D.K.Aruna, Housing Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and others spoke.
