The district administration on Friday announced that there was no threat of flash floods, as water started receding in both the Vamsadhara and Nagavali, which were in spate on Thursday due to heavy rains in the catchment areas of Odisha and other parts.
Reviewing the situation, Collector Saurabh Gaur and Revenue Divisional Officer G. Ganesh Kumar asked officials to be alert though the first level warning had not yet been issued.
Senior officials who toured the low-lying areas of Gara mandal said that a control room would continue to function for the next couple of days.
“There is no damage to public or private property. Connectivity to all remote places remain the same,” said Mr. Ganesh Kumar.
Irrigation officials said the water level in the Vamsadhara was 13,828 cusecs at the Gotta barrage and 22,800 cusecs at the old bridge on Friday evening.
