Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy said there is a dire need to instil confidence among the beleaguered partymen.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, Mr. Reddy said it is a fact that Congress leaders are defecting to other parties but there is no dearth of loyal party workers.
Bus yatraHe announced the dates for the party’s bus yatra from Srikakulam to Kurnool between March 21 and 27.
“We will encourage new leadership wherever the party has lost seniors. There are enthusiastic workers, who will fill the void,” he said, adding that the party would accept applications from all aspirants for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
He appealed to leaders who quit the Congress to reconsider their decision and return to the party fold.
Flanked by APCC campaign committee chairman K. Chiranjeevi, manifesto committee chairman Anam Ramnarayana Reddy and others, Mr. Reddy said the bus yatra beginning in Srikakulam would cover Vizianagaram on March 21.
At both the places, meetings of party workers would be organised. The yatra would conclude on Mach 27 after covering Anantapur in the morning and Kurnool in the evening.
