The Telangana Joint Action Committee Nizamabad district unit said that it was toying with the idea of fielding its candidate from the Nizamabad urban Assembly constituency and would announce the nominee in a day or two.
“We will field a person who has actively participated in the Telangana movement and has good relations with people,” the T-JAC leaders told reporters. Not taking names of the TRS and BJP the T-JAC district chairman I. Gopal Sarma criticised the two parties saying that the former was giving tickets to Telangana betrayers while the latter joined hands with the party which had tried till last minute to scuttle the formation of Telangana.
Replying a question he said that the Bodhan JAC was also planning to field its nominee in that constituency. He, however, denied the idea of contesting LS elections.
The JAC leaders wanted to know from TRS as to what message it wished to send across by inviting to its fold the leaders who unleashed terror against Telangana agitators while in YSRC and TDP. Mr. Sarma wanted all the political parties to allot Rs.10 lakh each to the bereaved families of martyrs.
