Nine-year-old boy’s head severed in cylinder blast

In a gory accident, the head of a nine-year-old boy, Mohammed Naser, studying fourth standard in Fathima English medium school, was severed from his body in a carbon dioxide cylinder blast in a welding shop in Nellore road in Badvel town on Monday evening.

The boy was playing in front of the welding shop when the accident occurred, police said. The welding shop owner Noor Basha sustained severe injuries and lost his speech, according to police. He was administered first aid in Badvel Government Hospital and rushed to RIMS hospital here in a critical condition. Badvel police inspected the welding shop and registered a case.
