Nine SSC students debarred in Chittoor

On the first day of the SSC examinations on Thursday as many as nine students were debarred at various centres in the district, while three invigilators were relieved from their respective centres on being caught for irregularities.

Of the total 53,834 candidates taking the examinations, 564 candidates were absent for the Telugu Paper-1 today. The debarred include four candidates at RK Model School centre in Chittoor town, and others were from Kothapallemitta and Penumuru of GD Nellore constituency, and from Kurabalakota in Madanapalle division. The Regional Joint Director (Kadapa) had led the squads personally at various centres. The debarment of nine candidates on the very first day stunned the educational department officials, who observed that this development was following strict vigilance on Chittoor district this year, on the basis of it standing first in the State last year. Malpractices and mass copying were reported in some of the centres in Madanapalle division. Last year, Chittoor district witnessed about ten cases of debarment of candidates during the entire examination schedule.

Kadapa

Thirty five thousand and one students including 33,232 regular students and 1,769 private students appeared for SSC examinations, which commenced on Thursday in 156 exam centres in Kadapa district.

District Collector K. Sasidhar and DEO K. Anjaiah inspected the SSC exam centre in Balavikas high school here and watched the arrangements made. He directed officials to provide drinking water and ORS satchets at the exam centres. He wanted steps to check malpractice in the exams.
