Representatives of AP NGOs Association and civil society groups on Sunday said that they would sacrifice their lives to protect the State from bifurcation. They alleged that the ruling Congress had failed to understand the sentiments of Andhra people and it was planning to divide the State only for political gain.
Addressing a media conference here, AP NGOs Association’s State associate president Chowdary Purushottam Naidu, association Srikakulam wing president Hanumanthu Sairam and general secretary B.Umamaheswara Rao said they would organise a protest at the camp office of Union Minister of State for Communication and Technology Killi Kruparani asking her to convey their feelings to the party high command.
They feared that the division would have serious impact on all the employees and majority of them would lose their seniority with the change of rules and regulations. “Lives of thousands of employees will be disturbed with the division of the State. Many of them will be forced to go other places from Hyderabad ,” said Mr.Purushottam Naidu.
He said all the employees were prepared to go on indefinite strike and participate in the agitations throughout Andhra and Rayalaseema regions. He urged them to participate in a big way in the public meeting to be held in Tirupati to step up pressure for the continuation of united Andhra Pradesh. Lok Satta Party leader D.Bhanumurthy, Srikakulam Citizens Forum president Baratam Kameswara Rao and others extended their support to the agitation of AP NGOs Association.
At another press conference, former minister and TDP ldeader Tammineni Seetharam said AICC President Sonia Gandhi should not play with the lives of Andhra people with her tactics.
