‘Needle Man’ still at large

Police in East and West Godavari districts have intensified their search for an unidentified youth who has been jabbing women with hypodermic needles this week. In the last six days, 17 women, including six school and college students, have been his victims.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu directed the DGP and DIG of Eluru range to go all out to put the ‘Needle Man’ behind bars in 24 hours.

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister N. Chinna Rajappa has asked the DIG Eluru and superintendents of police (SPs) of both districts to step up vehicle checks in all inter-district border towns. West Godavari SP Bhaskar Bhushan has announced a reward of 50,000 for anyone who furnishes information about the man.

Rajahmundry Urban SP S. Harikrishna said four teams including four SIs have been despatched to Ravulapalem, Bommuru, Kovvuru and Rajanagaram to apprehend the man .
