NCC cadets belonging to different colleges in the city here took part in an anti-drug rally organised to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse on Sunday.

The rally was organised by the 10(A) Naval Unit and the students carried placards to create awareness on the ill-effects of drug abuse and their impact on society at large.

Speaking on the occasion, C.V.S. Bhasker, principal of the Venkatagiri Rajah’s College said it was the duty and responsibility of every citizen to take part in awareness rallies against such social problems.

Mr. Bhasker said that drug abuse would lead to many health and societal complications even as many persons had become cancer and heart patients because of this, he added.
