Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh on Thursday took charge as coordinator of the party’s Welfare Fund for workers.
After taking charge at NTR Trust Bhavan, the party headquarters here, he said the fund would be used to do justice to every party activist. He also assured that he would regularly visit the party office and spending about three hours very evening. He would be accessible to party workers and try to solve their problems.
Mr. Lokesh said party workers suffered a lot during the 10 year Congress rule and it was the duty of the party to help them. The corpus of the fund would be used for the benefit of the workers by helping them in setting up small self employment units. It could also be used for extending medical insurance or for hospitalisation facilities. In extending such help, workers from Telangana and AP would be treated on par.
