Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate, N. Chandrababu Naidu, is not attending the swearing in ceremony of Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao as the first Chief Minister of Telangana on Monday.
TDP sources said on Sunday that Mr. Naidu would not attend the function as he received the invitation in a routine manner from the administration. The sources said there was no personal invitation to Mr. Naidu. Neither did a delegation of TRS leaders came and invited him nor was there any telephone call.
Earlier, top officials I.Y.R. Krishna Rao, chief secretary-designate and J.V. Ramudu, DGP-designate of the successor Andhra Pradesh State met Mr. Naidu and briefed him about the arrangements being made for his swearing in ceremony to be held between Vijayawada and Guntur on June 8. They also discussed with Mr. Naidu the implications of division for the residuary State, including allotment of officials.
The officials of Transco and Genco too called on AP Chief Minister-designate and made a presentation on the power situation.
Mr. Naidu reportedly expressed his displeasure over the consumption-based distribution between Telangana and AP and told them that injustice was done to Seemandhra.
