Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday interacted with MLAs, Ministers and party leaders at Lake View Guest House and held a detailed discussion on irrigation projects and inter-linking of rivers.
Chief Minister’s son and Coordinator of the Workers Welfare Fund Nara Lokesh also attended the meeting. Deputy Chief Minister Chinna Rajappa, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Irrigation Minister Uma Devineni were among those present. According to senior TDP leader Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, the focus of the meeting was on linking of Krishna, Godavari, Penna and Tungabhadra rivers. He said about 3,000 tmcft of water was going as waste into the sea and the government was keen to make optimum use and provide water to every village.
Irrigation projects
Plans to accord top priority to irrigation projects in the coming budget and to provide water to Rayalaseema through Pattiseema lift irrigation also figured.
Smart Village
The meeting also discussed housing and ‘Smart Village, Smart Ward and Smart AP’ programmes.
The Chief Minister also briefed them on the expected investments in the wake of his visits to Singapore, Japan and Davos.
