On the second day of his ‘Atmagaurava Yatra’ here, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu suggested that persons like YSRC president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and the ones accused in Delhi gang-rape case should be given death penalty which would serve as a deterrent to others.
He continued his tirade against the Congress and YSRC blaming them for the dire straits in which the State found itself due to the proposed bifurcation of the State while promising justice to the people of Seemandhra who have been agitating for the last 33 days.
Mr. Chandrababu Naidu castigated the Congress party for its slew of scandals that pushed the economy into an unprecedented crisis.
He described the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as ‘fit-for-nothing’ as he was just being a ‘rubber stamp’ in the hands of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and Jaganmohan Reddy as ‘ardhika ugravadi’ (economic terrorist).
While reiterating his support to the protests against bifurcation in Seemandhra region, he accused the Congress of forging a secret pact with the YSRC and TRS to weaken the TDP in the run-up to general elections.
He said it was Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy who had sown the seed for Telangana agitation and Sonia Gandhi completed the task.
The former Chief Minister said the Congress has totally failed at the national level.
The economy was in a shambles and there was none to care for the common people who were bearing a huge burden due to inflation and the fallout of corruption, he added.
The fact that the Congress stood on a slippery ground was once again proved in the Panchayat elections. The YSRC and TRS were also in a quandary. Describing the hospitalisation of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy as a drama, Mr. Naidu alleged that some YSRC leaders like Y.V. Subba Reddy gained entry into the hospital in the guise of doctors.
