Describing Khammam district as the nerve centre of freedom struggle and spirited mass movements against oppression, Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu vowed to employ social engineering to usher in “social Telangana” for keeping the “feudal elements” at bay in Telangana region.
Mr. Naidu addressed a well attended public meeting titled Praja Garjana, the first in the series of election meetings planned by the party in Telangana, here on Saturday night.
The TDP has a proven track record in upholding social justice and empowering weaker sections, he said, recalling that it was the party founder N T Rama Rao who abolished the Patwari and Patel system to end feudal regime.
Reiterating that his party will make a leader from backward classes as a Chief Minister of Telangana State, he slammed Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao accusing him of pursuing selfish political agenda and politics of nepotism with a feudal bent of mind.
Launching a virulent attack on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he alleged that the Congress government earned notoriety for numerous corruption scams.
Striking an emotional chord, he said, Khammam is renowned for Sthambadri Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy hill shrine and historical Sitaramachandra Swamy temple of Bhadrachalam. Each TDP worker should become a ‘Ugra Narasimha’ to make the ‘Hiranya Kashyapulu’ bite the dust at the hustings, he said.
Touching on the local issues, he said the TDP will strive to ensure justice to lakhs of Adivasis of Bhadrachalam Agency, set up a steel factory in public sector at Bayyaram, complete all irrigation projects and fulfil the development aspirations of the district.
Taking a dig at the YSR Congress, Mr Naidu said the YSRC leaders will face a rout in the coming elections.
“Victory of TDP is a historical necessity to build “Nava Telangana” and trounce the notorious feudal and corrupt elements,” he said.
