Naidu meets Suzlon CMD at Davos

Tells him of Centre’s nod to give gas

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held bilateral talks with Suzlon Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Tulsi Tanti at Davos on Tuesday.

During the discussions, Mr. Naidu said that the Central government had cleared proposals for gas allotment for Suzlon’s expansion plans.

The company is already established in Andhra Pradesh, and plans to expand their operations to wind, solar and gas power hybrid. Suzlon is also doing large-scale research on storage of renewable energy, and is interested in locating their pilot plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Naidu met AMEA region president and member of the ABB Executive Committee Dr. Chunyuan Gu at the summit. The ABB is a Swiss multinational corporation headquartered in Zurich, operating through four divisions — electrification products, robotics and motion, industrial automation, and power grids.

Agility team visit likely

He also met Agility Logistics CEO Tarek Sultan Al Essa and Director Eugene Mayne. A delegation from Agility Logistics is soon expected to visit Amaravati and will be taking the process ahead. Agility Logistics currently handles ground operations for the Mumbai airport and a few airports in Africa.

“We want to explore opportunities in India, and AP in particular as I have heard that the State is very advanced in technology,” said Mr. Tarek Sultan. Mr. Naidu expressed optimism over possible collaborationon for logistics university.
