Naidu lays stone for electronics park

April 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - ANANTAPUR:

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the first-ever electronics park in the district, coming up in Lepakshi mandal, near the Andhra-Karnataka border.

Mr. Naidu laid the foundation stone for Raga Mayuri Electronics Park, which envisages an investment of Rs. 100 crore, bringing in several electronics companies to set up shop on around 47 acres of land in the park, located around 70 km from the Bengaluru International Airport.

“The park will provide direct employment to 10,000 people and an equal quantum of employment indirectly to the people of the district. I have no doubt that this will herald a new era in the development of the district,” said Mr Naidu, speaking at a public meeting held at Kodikonda checkpost village of Lepakshi mandal.

Appreciating Hindupur legislator Nandamuri Balakrishna for his continuing efforts to improve the social infrastructure in the constituency, he said that the TDP government always attached great importance to Hindupur, as it was represented by its founder and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao.

“We have lost just 2 constituencies in the district, thanks to your love. Our government will accord special concern for the district and develop it like never before,” said Mr Naidu.
