Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that the State Government will start functioning from temporary capital from June 15 onwards.

He laid foundation stone for the temporary capital at Velagapudi village in Guntur District on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Naidu said that the employees also agreed to relocate. Atleast 15,000 houses were required for Government employees. The people of Krishna and Guntur districts were requested not to hike the rents abnormally and create troubles.

It will hinder the development. The onus lies on every one of us to create history. The Government objective is to construct world class capital. Amaravati would be among top ten capital cities across the globe, he said.

A few people were making baseless allegations that the Government was misusing funds for constructing temporary capital. It is a misnomer that it is a temporary structure. It is being constructed in multi purpose area. The AP CRDA will use it for commercial or any other best suited purpose.

The Government intends to make the temporary capital building as a historical structure. The future generations should visit it to know the history, he said.

Referring to deficit budget, Mr. Naidu said that Andhra Pradesh would have to witness deficit budget till 2019. He was quoting Finance Commission report. Incidentally, 2019 is election year.
