Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is also the Chief Minister-designate for Andhra Pradesh, will leave for New Delhi on Saturday night to discuss the issue of Cabinet berths for TDP MPs with the BJP leadership.
Party sources said on Friday that Mr. Naidu would finalise the number of ministerial berths for TDP MPs from Seemandhra in Narendra Modi’s Cabinet during his talks with the BJP top brass. He was planning to pursue for as many berths for Seemandhra as possible, including the ones for BJP MPs elected from the region.
Chirala MLA to join TDPEarlier, Independent MLA-elect from Chirala in Prakasam district Amanchi Krishna Mohan met Mr. Naidu on Friday and expressed his desire to join TDP.
He told reporters after meeting Mr. Naidu that he would continue as an associate member of TDP in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly till the legal hurdles were cleared for his formal joining of TDP. Mr. Mohan said he was joining TDP in the interests of his constituency and the State.
Meanwhile, cine actor and former party MP Kaikala Satyanarayana, cine actor Ram, Chairman and Managing Director of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL-Visakha Steel) Madhusudhana Rao and Commissioner of Panchayat Raj Varaprasad Rao called on Mr. Naidu.
