Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has drawn up a 15-year calendar of programmes for the party and the government envisioning all round development of the State and taking the party closer to the people.

“We are preparing action plans for 2019, 2022 and 2029. We will face three elections and witness three finance commissions by 2029. All our actions and deeds should aim at developing the State and strengthening the party,” Mr. Naidusaid while addressing the extended State committee meeting of the party here on Thursday.

He exhorted the party rank and file to stay with the people and explain them about the various schemes being taken up by the government besides ensuring that the benefits of welfare and developmental programmes reached the last mile.

In this direction, he wanted the party’s elected representatives to stay in villages for at least six working days every month to understand the realities at the grassroots level and ensure on the spot redressal of grievances.

The constituency and district in-charges had been directed to meet on a regular basis to review the coordination between the party and the government.

TDP as national party Earlier, Mr. Naidu said the party leadership had commenced the exercise for securing registration as a national party and was examining the modalities that should be put in place for further strengthening it in A.P., Telangana as well as other States. The TDP, he asserted, was sure to secure the national party status by May next year.

Mr. Naidu asserted that the party had strong cadre base and the it remained with the party in spite of some leaders leaving it for their vested interests.
