Naidu asks Railways to step up security

Telugu Desam president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday expressed shock over the robbing of passengers in Chennai and Secunderabad Express trains and urged the Railway Ministry to step up security.

In a statement here, he accused the Railways of being lenient in spite of a series of incidents of looting and train accidents. He said the fact that three incidents of looting had taken place in the past one week in Chennai Express demonstrated the failure of the Railway police.
