Naidu approves five new proposals

Decision emerges from investment promotion board meet

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, at a meeting of the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) on Tuesday, approved of five new proposals relating to setting up of industries and investments in the State.

Textile unit

Toray Industries India Private Limited, a technical textile manufacturing company, will be setting up a unit on 109.35 acres at Sri City in Chittoor district.

The firm will invest ₹970 crore and will provide direct employment to 130 people and indirect employment to 520 people.

The company is expected to start commercial production in April 2020.

Page Industries Limited, an exclusive licensee for Jockey and Speedo, will establish a project for garment manufacturing and warehousing at Rapthadu in Anantapur district.

An investment of ₹129 crore will be made in the project, which will generate direct employment for 6,420 people.

The company will start commercial production in October 2018, and the expected turnover in the financial year 2020-21 is ₹1,080 crore.

Aluminium alloy wheels

Rockman Industries Limited will invest ₹652 crore to set up a unit in Chittoor district. The firm specialises in aluminium alloy wheels and die casting components for two and four- wheelers.

The project will generate direct employment for 1,000 people and indirect employment for 500.

IT firm in Vizag

An IT firm, Conduent Inc., will be investing ₹649 crore for their project in Visakhapatnam. The project includes diversified business process services and generates direct employment for 5,000 people.

Electronic manufacturing

Gouttephone Technologies (P) Limited, an electronic manufacturing company, will set up an unit on 5 acres, for touch panel manufacturing, at Atchutapuram in Visakhapatnam district. Their investment amounts to ₹504.07 crore, and they commit to employ (direct) 300 people.
