The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned loan assistance of Rs 351 crore to a slew of projects from Andhra Pradesh.
Among the projects sanctioned are 22 minor irrigation,16 lift irrigation, 135 high schools and 7 Mini hydel and comprehensive land development projects involving loan assistance of Rs.351.55 crore.
K V Raghavulu, CGM, NABARD, said here today that these projects were sanctioned under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF—XV) by the Project sanctioning committee at a meeting held in New Delhi on October 22.
The 22 Minor irrigation and 16 Lift irrigation projects would be implemented by irrigation and Command Area Development and Andhra Pradeh State Irrigation Development Corporation respectively in nine districts, namely, Adilabad, Guntur,Kurnool, Mehabubnagar, Khammam, Nalgonda, Nizambad, Nellore and Karim Nagar.
The irrigation projects on completion would irrigate 12967.50 hectares. The irrigation projects supported under RIDF are estimated to provide recurring employment of 3891 mandays per year and non—recurring employment of 130.92 lakh mandays, Mr. Raghavulu said.
