District Collector Kantilal Dande has said that proposals to augment infrastructure in all fire stations would be sent to the State government.

He was speaking at the valedictory of the Fire Safety Week held on the premises of the District Fire Office.

Lessons

Mr. Dande said that it would be better if lessons in fire safety were added in the textbooks of high school students and added that all multiplexes, commercial complexes should install firefighting equipment.

Manpower

District Fire Officer M.D Jeelani said that there were 14 fire stations in the district and sought additional manpower and facilities.

A mock fire drill of dousing flames using a sprinkler was performed and the District Collector viewed a demonstration of fire safety equipment.

The District Fire Officer said that mock drills were staged at Naaz Centre and other major junctions in the town.
