MRPS to intensify agitation

March 22, 2018 12:41 am | Updated 12:41 am IST - ONGOLE

The Madiga Reservation Porata Samiti(MRPS) will intensify its stir for categorisation of Scheduled Castes for reservation in government jobs and educational institutions, said its State General Secretary U.Brahamaih.

Addressing the media, he said that the activists would lay siege to the residences of MPs from the State up to March 30 to press our long-pending demand of amending the constitution to provide for micro-classification of SCs.

Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu, who had backed the demand before 2014 elections, was now silent and so was the Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly and YSR Congress President Y.S.Jaganmohan Reddy, he alleged.

Public meeting

The MRPS would organise a massive public meeting in Guntur on April 2 to make one last attempt to have the demand met during the ongoing Budget session. MRPS plenary would be convened shortly to chalk out its strategy for the 2019 elections, he said.
