Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said the attempt to destabilise the government by tabling of a no-confidence motion was meaningless.
Exuding confidence that the motion, for which the TRS and YSR Congress have served notices, would be defeated as and when it came up in the Assembly, he told reporters in the Assembly on Thursday that there was no meaning in giving a notice when there were other avenues for the Opposition parties to discuss the failures of the Government.
“We would have been happy if they had used the opportunity during the debate on the Governor’s address to the legislature or the discussion on the budget”, he said.
Mr. Reddy said “no one is entertaining the thought that the Congress Government will fall. My government is stable and there is no immediate threat”.
He accused the TRS and the YSRCP of tabling the notice out of fear of facing the upcoming panchayat raj elections.
