Fire drill held at railway station in Khammam

As part of an awareness programme on fire safety, Fire Services Department personnel conducted a mock drill in front of the railway station here on Tuesday.

Fire services personnel demonstrated various fire-fighting and rescue techniques during the drill. The busy entrance of the railway station turned out to be a platform for the display of the fire fighting methods including the latest techniques to extinguish fire. A vehicle equipped with water-mist fire-fighting devices attracted the attention of onlookers comprising passengers, railway staff members and others during the mock drill.

A fire tender was also pressed into service as part of the mock drill to display the scientific methods of dousing fire and preventing the loss of life and property. Khammam fire station in-charge Kranthi Kumar participated.
