MLA booked on land grab charge

The Anandapuram police have booked a land grabbing case against Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind and 11 others, here on Friday. The case was booked against Mr. Govind, after Anandapuram Tashildar Easwar Rao registered a complaint against the MLA and a few of his family members and other persons.

The Tashildar registered the complaint after he received details of land grabbing from the SIT that is inquiring into the alleged land grabbing issue in Visakhapatnam district.

According to Mr. R. Govind Rao, Circle Inspector of Andandapuram Police Station, Mr. Peela Govind and the other members have grabbed 95.89 acres of government land by tampering land records in the revenue department.

Cases have been booked against the MLA and the others under Land Grabbing sections and other relevant sections under IPC such as cheating and criminal conspiracy.
