A minor girl was allegedly raped at Paderu in the Agency area of the district. Though the incident occurred on Friday evening, it came to light only on Saturday after the girl’s parents admitted her to a hospital on Saturday.
The 11-year-old girl was raped by her paternal uncle, who has been absconding after her parents approached the police. The accused, Killo Rambabu (35), took the victim to an isolated place on the pretext of buying her some eatables and raped her. He dropped her home after committing the crime.
Noticing that something was wrong with their daughter, her parents insisted on knowing the truth. They were shocked to find that Rambabu was the culprit and lodged a complaint against him at the Paderu police station.
Inspector Sheik Gafoor said that a case was registered and a manhunt launched for the accused. He said that the condition of the victim was stable. She would be shifted to the King George Hospital in the city for medical examination.
