Members almost come to blows

August 20, 2014 12:26 am | Updated 12:26 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Members of the ruling Telugu Desam Party and the Opposition YSR Congress almost came to blows in the Assembly on Tuesday, after Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao adjourned the House for the day and left for his chambers.

Soon after the Speaker left the House, Tirupati MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy (YSRC) started talking loudly and seeking to address ruling party members.

He started arguing with Hanumantharaya Chowdary (Kalyandurg), who was standing closest to him, expressing his anger at the way Labour Minister T. Atchan Naidu had repeatedly alleged that it was Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s family that was traditionally known for ‘murder politics. After a few minutes it almost looked as if they would come to blows, but a clash was averted with the intervention of other MLAs and some Assembly staff.
