March 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 08:10 am IST - VISAKHAPATNAM:

The State government is likely to take a final decision on the date to conduct the Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test-2015 (EAMCET) at a meeting involving all stakeholders in Hyderabad on Monday, according to Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

Speaking to the media after laying the foundation stone for ‘Vidya Bhavan’ here on Sunday, the Minister said there were some issues that needed to be sorted out with regard to conducting the entrance test on May 10 and a final decision would be taken after holding discussions with officials and others on Monday.

Karnataka Private College Managements Association was also conducting an entrance test for admission into their colleges on May 10 and there were a significant number of students from the State who were scheduled to appear for the entrance, the Minister said. Further, one subject of DSC examinations was also scheduled to be conducted on that day. “Though candidates appearing for DSC are not going to write the EAMCET, there are certain issues pertaining to logistics that need to be addressed. There is a need to ensure that there is no shortage of exam halls for both the exams,” he said. Tomorrow’s meeting would be attended by officials from various departments to discuss alternative dates and a final decision would be arrived at, he said.
