Mee Seva service for IT sector

The government has launched the delivery of 11 services related to IT sector through Mee Seva.

Information Technology Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, along with Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy, launched the services related to release of incentives and subsidies offered to IT industries through Mee Seva centres here on Saturday.

Mr. Lakshmaiah said that the initiative was intended to make Industries department more responsive, transparent, quick and accountable to the IT industry. With the new facility, the IT companies would be able to file their applications for incentives at any Mee Seva centre.

The incentives extended to ICT (Information and Communication Technology) industries are 25 per cent power subsidy, conversion to industrial power tariff, stamp duty refund of 50 per cent to 100 per cent, recruitment assistance, tier II/III Location Anchor Company incentive, reimbursement of patent filing cost, reimbursement of quality certification expenditure, declaration of IT Park status, specific incentives for SC, ST, women entrepreneurs and allotment of land.

The ICT company can submit the claim at any of the 6,805 Mee Seva centres instead of visiting the IT&C department at the Secretariat. A unique ID will be provided to the applicant to track the status at any time. With the latest 11 services brought under Mee Seva, the total services offered pertaining to various departments have increased to 114 services.
