The building of new capital and other infrastructure in the successor state of Andhra Pradesh is expected to throw up new opportunities in, among other sectors, infrastructure, health and education post-bifurcation.
With a view to tapping these opportunities, public relations and media firms are planning to expand their operations to Ongole, which is being considered for location of major, medium and small industrial units including a Rs. 30,000 crore National Investment and Manufacturing Zone with Chinese collaboration as also a good number of institutions of higher learning.
More media firms are sure to follow suit as it is imperative to open branch offices in the new State and get themselves empanelled with the Department of Information and Public Relations, industry sources say.
After the State’s split, Hyderabad-based Hope Advertising Private Limited (HAPL) accredited with Indian Newspapers Society and All India Radio, is the first to open a full-fledged office here to be a partner in unfolding development.
“A flurry of activity in the manufacturing and services sector is on the anvil. We want to be partners in progress of the state of Andhra Pradesh in general and Prakasam district in particular'' K.Suneeta, HAPL managing director, told The Hindu .
''We have tied up with GetIt, provider of free online Yellow pages of 1.6 million companies across 600 cities to help small and medium entrepreneurs connect with relevant consumers'', she explains.
